In the digital age we now live in, millions of people across the country rely on their smartphones to access information and communicate.

Are you utilising mobile recruitment in your hiring strategy? Did you know that 63% of candidates search for jobs on their mobile phone? 40% of candidates will abandon their job search if they're unable to apply at this stage.

The UK has been making continuous steps towards becoming a ‘mobile society’. A recent piece of research that highlights this growing trend came in the form of a 2016 survey produced by Statcounter, showing that more websites were loaded on mobile devices than on computers, accounting for 46.5% of internet traffic.

One particular method that has been on the rise over the last few years has been mobile recruitment. Aspiring candidates are taking to mobile as their primary job-seeking source, with consultant Earl Street stating that 45% of job-seekers use their mobile devices to search for jobs at least once a day.

Onrec conducted their own research, finding a notable gap between employers whose websites are optimized for mobile (47%) and jobseekers who had said that they would use smartphones to hunt for a job (70%).

In 2013, Google altered its mobile search practices, meaning that businesses that don’t have a mobile-optimised site will be pushed further down the rankings. Having your career site mobile friendly will improve your SEO and drive more traffic to your website. Who knows those extra visits may end up becoming a customer or your next employee of the year!

Mobile is an incredible tool to wield as part of your toolkit. You can ensure that a lengthy process is reduced time-wise, a stronger positioning among search engines, and adding a strategic diversity to your recruitment plan.

We've partnered with Facebook's official recruitment arm to enable hiring processes to be mobile friendly and socially savvy

With 1 in every 5 minutes spent online being spent on Facebook itself, its the perfect platform to grab the attention of people where they spend the most time. With this technology, it allows applicants to apply via Facebook straight to your applicant tracking system even from their mobile device.

This form of advertising is a great way to target passive candidates who aren't actively looking for a new role but are open to hearing about opportunities that are related to their expertise.

A study by Work4 shows that 60% of candidates are passive, 45% of those are using their mobile devices to search for jobs at least once a day!
