In every workplace you will find a wide variety of different people, not one person will be the same. Hey, if we were all the same wouldn't life be boring!

So when a company launches a recruitment campaign, it is crucial that the hiring manager makes sure the advert is as inclusive as possible. However, diversity has proven to be a difficult value for some companies to hold up.

A key whitepaper by Robert Walters revealed that even though increasing diversity in the workplace is the priority of 85% of employers, 46% do not have programmes in place to attract diverse candidates.

Encouraging diversity can be a double-edged sword and striving to be more inclusive to some minorities runs the risk of isolating others.

If you're looking to add diversity to your recruitment process here's our top 3 ways to do so.

3 Steps to Diverse Hiring

1: Recruiting Diverse People via Diverse Recruiters - One of the best ways to ensure diversity in recruitment is to put a diverse team of employees at the centre of recruitment. This brings a varied thought-process to the table that caters to multiple groups and removes bias.

2: Accommodate Individual Diversities - Encourage applicants to be forthcoming about any issues they feel strongly about (i.e. disability, religion etc) so that you can work with them to ensure that these issues are considered and acted upon in the workplace.

3: Keep the Job Adverts Neutral and Inclusive - Ensure that the language you use in your job adverts are inclusive and do not run the risk of limiting potential groups of people.
