Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS's) are a technological godsend. Applying an ATS to the recruitment process has allowed recruiters to employ a much more strategic approach to finding the right candidates, filtering down to the key talent right for your business.

Every technical platform relies on key features to act as the pillars upon which their success is built.  Top ATS Features

Customisation 

ATS's present recruiters with a challenging balancing act; being able to create a process that everyone can adapt to while still allowing enough leeway for the company to make their own mark. Talentvine has been working with clients to provide processes in line with their own as well as incorporating their own branding and formatting, workflows for specific roles and customised forms. This ensures that that the widely-applicable recruitment process retains a level of uniqueness to the client's branding.

Mobile Responsive 

In 2014, Glassdoor reported that 9 in 10 job seekers use mobile to find a job online. Therefore, when using an ATS, you should make sure that all recruitment forms, branding and workflows can be easily accessed on a mobile. This also has the benefit of speeding up the process and giving the applicant more time and opportunity to go through the process.

Hiring Manager Portal

A HMP allows your Hiring Managers to collaborate and review the applications via a shortlist that you have published from the ATS (thus control over the whole process still lying with the Recruitment team) The HM can then make the decision as to whether they would like to see the candidates for interview. These bulk decisions are then returned to the Recruitment Team via the click of a button. No need to manually send CV’s to HM’s and multiple exchanges of email removed!

 Talent Pool Searching 

Checking through CVs manually just on the off-chance that the candidate MIGHT have something you want can be a somewhat laborious task. Including the option of a talent pool search will make the process much less strenuous and will yield quicker results. A simple check for a qualification can be a simple keyword away...

Third Party Integrations 

Whenever you're installing an ATS, you need to ensure that it can integrate with your existing systems. Software that you're using, websites and job boards you're accessing etc. Ironically, the ability to integrate with third parties is a sure-fire way to know if your ATS has what it takes to stand on its own two feet.

Real-Time Reporting 

If you're dealing with a deadline and that sense of urgency is creeping up on you, it's not just enough to know if the ball is rolling, you need to know when the ball is rolling. Real-time reporting will keep recruiters constantly in the loop as to which applications are outstanding, which interviews have been arranged, and any other details that need carrying out.
